Zond was released as a software package for electrical exploration back in 2001, and since then has been constantly developed. Now, Zond consists of numerous modules intended for working with resistivity & IP, magnetotelluric, time-domain EM, controlled-source EM, self-potential, seismic, gravity and magnetic data. Although programs for interpretation of deep EM soundings are also available, most of the modules are focused on shallow and medium-depth geophysics, thus making the Zond software particularly suitable intended for solving engineering, ecological, hydrological and mineral prospecting problems.

Key features:

  • Export results to popular engineering graphic systems, such as Surfer or Autocad
  • Use of a priori geological and geophysical information in interpretation
  • Constant development and improvement of the software
  • Integrated interpretation of data from different methods
  • Comprehensive data representation capabilities
  • Quality control of the field data;

Some of the most popular Zond software modules are:

ZondRes2D

ZondRes2d program is designed for two-dimensional interpretation of ERT&IP data in ground, borehole and groundwater versions.

The program works with any type of arrays used in electrical survey or their combinations. It is possible to set all three coordinates for each of the electrodes.

The main functionality of the program includes modeling, inversions using a priori information (wells, horizons, sections), suppression of P- and C-effects.

ZondTEM2D

ZondTEM2D is designed for two-dimensional interpretation of TEM and CSEM data for several observation systems, either ground-based or airborne. Depending on the user's choice software gives different variants of data interpretation algorithms.

The program supports traditional TEM systems (coincident loops, in-loop, central loop, fixed loop, VMD, HMD). EM fields and/or their time’s derivatives can be used. There is possibility of weight setting (Error gates) for data, fixing and limiting of different parameters, using of a priori model as reference in inversion. If the values of some section parameters are known exactly (a priori or on interpretation results), their fixing is possible before the beginning of automatic interpretation.

ZondST2D

ZondST2D program is designed for two-dimensional processing and interpretation of seismic tomography data on refracted and reflected waves (land, cross-borehole and water variants). The software supports the following methods:

1. Refraction waves forward modeling and inversion in arbitrary layered medium;

2. Refraction waves forward modeling and inversion in arbitrary layered medium;

3. MASW/ReMi – surface waves data processing and interpretation;

4. Amplitude attenuation tomography;

5. Velocity anisotropy.

ZondGM3D

ZondGM3D is designed for three-dimensional interpretation of land and airborne gravity/magnetic data. Influence of host rocks and surrounding topography on the gravity field is excluded by subtraction of the normal field and reductions. The software uses simple and clear data format which allows easily combining various systems of observation, including different variants of the topography setting up and other additional information.
